Training Stadium

We are the hammer throwing team for a track and fiel club in Greece called G.S. Venizelos, who is ranked number 1 in Greece for 3 consecutive years. Our throwing team has been able to produce throwers that, not only have stood out in the Greek scene, but also in Europe and the world. Throwers like Olympian Michalis Anastasakis, 4th European champion 2016 and is currently ranked in the top 12 in the world and of course holds multiple national titles and records under his belt. A rising star of the group is Christos Frantzeskakis, who has produced national records and is currently the world leader in the junior category with the 6k hammer. We also currently have a 12 year old girl that has thrown 53.5 with the 3k hammer, and for those who know will realize what an accomplishment that is. 
     The reason we are creating this page is to raise money to create a new field for us, and others, to throw. As you can see in the pictures, the conditions we have to face everyday are unbearable. The money will be used to fix up a new area that was donated by a local. It will be used for  purchasing a new hammer cage and creating a hammer ring and also cleaning up the area from all the weeds and to getting the area level. All of this is the bear minimum. If we raise the whole amount, we will be able to fix up an old house that is located on the property and turn it into a weight room. 
     This area will not only be used by us. Our coach, from his years of coaching experience, has made friends all over Europe. We will be able to invite and host hammer throwers for their training camps, as they will be able to take advantage of our great weather, and company!
