Advocates, Community, and Friends,

After two years of nearly reaching our goal to open our own physical space, the COVID-19 pandemic hits, putting all our hard work to a tragic stop.

Since then, we are happy to report that the funds raised have provided the capacity to train, prepare, and set our students up for success through student education grants to be certified, professional makeup artists. Thanks to this community support, we have awarded 25 certifications for co-op members to continue their education and career in the United States. And therefore choose their future.

We are now excited to restart our fundraiser and continue supporting trans & gender-non-conforming immigrants arriving in New York City. Additionally, we’ve coordinated various levels of support and links to local service providers so that these newly arrived LGBTQ refugees and asylum seekers can find assistance to meet their needs.

LGBTQ immigrants face unique hardships every step of their forced migration journey; Mirror - NYC's Trans-led Beauty Worker Cooperative , looks for ways to enhance the capacity of our communities, so they don't just survive....but thrive.

Después de casi dos años de estar cerca de cumplir nuestros sueños de abrir nuestro espacio físico, el COVID-19 nos golpea poniendo fin a todo nuestro arduo trabajo.

Nos complace informar que los fondos que hemos recaudado en nuestra campañas anterior han brindado la oportunidad de capacitarlos con certificados como maquillistas profesionales y preparar a nuestros estudiantes para el éxito a través de becas de educación. Gracias a este apoyo de la comunidad, hemos podido brindar 25 certificaciones en el año 2021.

Por eso pedimos su apoyo para que nuestra comunidad continúen su educación y carrera en los Estados Unidos. Y puedan elegir su propio futuro.

Ahora estamos aumentando nuestra recaudación de fondos para continuar apoyando a los inmigrantes transgénero y genero-no-conformes que estan recientemente llegando a la ciudad de Nueva York. También hemos coordinado y referido varios niveles de apoyo para miembros de la comunidad lgbtq+.

Los inmigrantes LGBTQ enfrentan dificultades únicas por cada paso de su peligrosa travesía de migración, Mirror- la Cooperativa de Trabajadores de la Belleza de Nueva York busca formas de aumentar la capacidad de nuestras hermanes para que no solo sobrevivan... sino para que triunfen con éxito.
