In Our Nomad Era: A Trans Journey to Safety
Donation protected
We’re Flint and Xilo, trans husbands, former educators, and partners on a mission to make the world a better place for queer and neurodivergent people. Over the last year, we’ve dedicated ourselves to healing—unpacking trauma, navigating burnout, and rebuilding our lives with intention. But one thing is clear: our current home isn’t safe or sustainable for us anymore.
Like many trans people, we face barriers to homeownership—discrimination, financial instability, and the constant fear that the world around us is becoming more hostile. We need help to create a home that we own and can take wherever we need to go.
An Airstream is our best path forward. It gives us:
- A home that’s truly ours—a space to rest, rejuvenate, and create without the expectations or triggers of living in someone else's house
- Mobility and safety—if where we are becomes unsafe, we can leave
- Connection with nature—nature grounds us and fosters our creativity
- Access to community - traveling across the continent gives us the chance to meet and learn from our trans siblings
- Capacity to continue our work—getting our needs met will open up our capacity to support others through the content we create and services we offer
Your support helps pay for a used Airstream and equip it with what we need to sustainably live and work in it full-time! Every dollar gets us closer to safety, freedom, and the capacity to continue to uplift our community.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Whether you donate or simply share our story, you’re helping us move toward a life where trans people can thrive.
