Transcribe Interviews of Lamp (Japanese Band)
This is a fundraiser with the goal of commissioning transcriptions of the Japanese-language audio-only interviews, podcasts etc. of the band Lamp. With these transcriptions, the English (& any other language) community of the group would have a solid resource to begin to translate them and get additional insight into the band that only Japanese audiences have had up to this point.
With these funds, a professional transcriber (via Fiverr) would make a Japanese script along to the audio. With Japanese transcriptions, we could easily translate them within the community via volunteers, via a 'smart translation' computer program like DeepL, or have them professionally-translated as a second fundraising goal. The current transcriber's rate is $7.50/minute of audio for a 'verbatim transcription'.
===HOWEVER, it may be possible to find someone cheaper to do this work: if there's any volunteers that understand Japanese that want to contribute to this. I am going to ask around & reach out to Japanese contacts, see if Japanese fans would be interested in volunteering for this work for free or at a reduced rate etc.
It may be possible to dramatically decrease the price as a result, but the prices listed below would be the 'worst case' scenario of outsourcing the entire project to a professional. If we're able to get this done cheaper than expected, I'll update the price requirement and issue any refunds as needed (if we end up raising more than we need in the end). I will keep everyone updated on if we have a change of plans of who we're hiring; will post message logs, price, proof-of-payment/receipts etc. of each project commissioned; and overall be as transparent as possible. This is an effort for the Lamp community by the Lamp community.===
The bare minimum will be ~$680, though additional funds can be used toward any additional audio recordings found in the future, professionally-formatted transcriptions, hosting of the website that will house the transcriptions etc. or even supporting Lamp.
