Translate the book Platt (Flat) into English!

Hi, my name is Sofia and together with Hanna I have written the book “Platt” (Flat), featuring the stories and unique portraits of 15 women living with less than two breasts after breast cancer. From the book:

“Doctors in Sweden warn that those who do not wish to undergo breast reconstruction after breast cancer will become depressed, experience psychosocial disorders, and face sexual problems. Symmetry is important, but it can only be achieved by building up a new breast shape, not by removing the remaining breast. Those who question and prefer to remain flat encounter massive resistance. They are told that they are in shock and do not know what is best for them. What is truly important? Is it to meet the expectations that all women should appear to have two breasts, or is it to feel well and have the autonomy to choose how one's body should look after cancer? Is it reasonable at all for other people to dictate how you must look in order to feel good or to prevent others from feeling uncomfortable when they look at you? Flat, happy, and a woman—is it possible? Absolutely! We don't need to buy into the myth or conform to the narrow fabricated norm that society tries to impose on us, not if we don't want to! In this book, 15 women share their struggle to assert control over their own bodies after breast cancer, as well as their personal experiences of living with fewer than two breasts. These stories are accompanied by completely unique portrait photos where the women themselves have chosen exactly how they want to be depicted. Because we are unique and should be treated as such, even in healthcare.”

Since the book is only available in Swedish, we would love to have it translated to reach out to the worldwide Flat community we’re a part of.

To do this we’re told we need to pay approximately 25.000 Swedish kronor.
