Translating representation into Welsh literature

A solution to address the lack of representation in welsh literature is translation!

This fund has been set up to support Black British authors and other marginalised voices to establish their books as Welsh literature, by translating into Welsh.

The funding raised will help cover the translation fees and support towards publishing and printing costs, with this target we aim to help as many authors as possible, our target is at least 10 children’s authors to have released Welsh versions of their books within 3 months of receiving support.

This is a short term solution to help diversify Welsh literature and support underrepresented authors, while we wait for more Black Welsh authors and other marginalised Welsh voices to emerge and  platform their talent.
