Transport Ukrainian refugees to Bulgaria

We are fundraising to fund bus transportation and housing of Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria. Over 50,000 Ukrainians have already made it to safety in Bulgaria and we need to help transport and house many more.

 

As other neighboring countries to Ukraine, such as Poland, have already taken on 3 million+ refugees and are overwhelmed, facing humanitarian crises themselves, countries like Bulgaria that do not share direct border with Ukraine have capacity to take on and help more fleeing Ukrainians.

 

We want to bring 10,000 refugees within a 3 week period through 200 bus transports from Ukraine to the Bulgarian city of Sofia. If we are successful during these first weeks, we will do everything we can to help many more Ukrainians escaping the war after that initial period through the same organized transportation and housing.

 

Our efforts are in alignment with the Bulgarian government’s decision to provide temporary protection to displaced persons from Ukraine in compliance with Directive 2001/55/ЕО that came into effect on February 25th, 2022.

The funds will be distributed to 1. Bulgarian Red Cross helping Ukrainians and 2. Transport providers who drive refugees from the Moldova border to Bulgaria,
