Behold, a date that echoes through the annals of Tanzanian history—a dark symphony of resilience and defiance. On September 7th, 2017, Tundu Antipus Lissu, the stalwart opposition chief whip, luminary President of the Tanganyika Law Society, and unyielding champion of human rights, bore the brunt of an audacious attempt on his life. The Risks of Making a Difference Tundu Lissu Shot
Thirty-two bullets pierced the veil of tranquility, leaving him gravely wounded, yet resolute in his quest for justice. Transported to the sanctuary of Nairobi, Kenya, he emerged from the crucible of adversity, bearing the indelible scars of his noble struggle—titanium plates and a bullet lodged in his spine, emblems of unwavering courage.
Fast forward seven years, to May 17th, 2024—the day the vestiges of that fateful assault resurfaced in Dodoma. Behold, Lissu's vehicle, still adorned with the haunting vestiges of its ordeal—bullet holes etched in steel, seats tainted with the remnants of his blood.
Undeterred by the shadows of the past, Tundu Lissu embarks on a courageous journey across the diverse fabric of Tanzanian society—a beacon of hope amidst encroaching darkness. With unwavering conviction, Lissu fearlessly articulates unspoken truths, delivering poignant messages that resonate deeply with the masses for the betterment of Tanzanians. His message of hope transcends geographical, religious, and political divides, uniting all segments of society under a common vision for progress and prosperity.
The Tanzanian public firmly believes that the vehicle in which Tundu Lissu was riding on that fateful day, when his body was riddled with 32 bullets, should be preserved in a museum—a poignant symbol of our nation's struggle against dictatorship and violent oppression. However, we also recognize Lissu's essential need for a reliable means of transportation to continue his invaluable work. Join us, fellow champions of liberty, as we rally to the cause of Tundu Lissu—a beacon of hope, a paragon of virtue.
Let us unite in our quest to procure for him an armored SUV (4x4), a steadfast companion in his tireless pursuit of justice and democracy. Together, we shall forge a legacy that reverberates through the annals of time—a testament to the resilience and triumph of the human spirit over adversity. As we bear witness to his unyielding spirit, we are compelled to act—to honor his sacrifice and empower his mission.
For too long has he treaded the paths of peril, relying on borrowed means of transportation to traverse the labyrinth of his calling in the face of adversity. Your contribution is not merely a donation—it is an investment in the future of Tanzania, a testament to the resilience of its people.
Let us stand as sentinels of freedom, guardians of democracy, and champions of justice. Together, we shall navigate the tumultuous seas of uncertainty, guided by the unwavering light of Tundu Lissu's indomitable spirit.
