Tratamiento para cáncer de pulmón con metástasis en huesos

Hola, mi nombre es Elena de la Cruz y necesito vuestra ayuda, por pequeñita que sea.

Os cuento:

A principios de año mi padre, Pedro de la Cruz, que tiene ya 72 años, comenzó a quejarse de dolores en la pierna izquierda. Al principio ninguno le dimos importancia, cosas de la edad, pero el dolor siguió creciendo y para mediados de junio mi padre, que estuvo como un mes llevando muletas, perdió la movilidad en la pierna y quedó prácticamente postrado en la cama. Preocupado, mi padre decidió ir a especialistas y fue ingresado en el Hospital Nuestra Señora de Sonsoles, en Ávila, donde, en principio, no encontraban la razón de su dolencia tras varias pruebas de traumatología y neurología, hasta que le hicieron un TAC y descubrieron que tenía cáncer de pulmón con metástasis a los huesos, en este caso, irradiado a la pierna izquierda.

Además, estando en el hospital todavía, se cayó y se partió la cadera, momento en que aparte de implantarle una prótesis de cadera, le quitaron la cabeza del fémur ya que estaba afectada por la metástasis y la enviaron a anatomía patológica. El resultado: carcinoma; fue operado de cadera y fémur el día 30 de julio con alta posibilidad de muerte porque, además, mi padre ha sufrido cinco infartos en los últimos veinte años. Aunque superó la operación, hasta el día de hoy, mi padre es incapaz de caminar por el dolor tan grave que siente en la pierna y la debilidad que el cáncer le está provocando. Añadido a todo esto, está perdiendo una gran cantidad de peso ya que le resulta imposible comer en condiciones porque ha perdido el apetito, lo cual es algo habitual en pacientes de cáncer.

Los oncólogos están valorando ahora qué tratamiento seguir: quimioterapia, radioterapia, quimioterapia metronómica..., pero mientras deliberan, y ante la preocupación y el dolor de poder perderlo, ya que está perdiendo un importante volumen de masa muscular y energía, mi familia, con ayuda médica externa, hemos iniciado un tratamiento que consiste en una serie de suplementos (de los cuales os voy a dejar una lista más abajo) que ayudan a ralentizar la evolución del cáncer, para intentar, si no salvarlo, al menos, que pueda vivir el máximo tiempo posible con la mayor calidad de vida que esté a nuestra disposición.

El problema es, y aquí es donde entra vuestra ayuda, que este tratamiento, junto a todos los pañales, empapadores, guantes... se nos hace imposible mantenerlo: somos una familia humilde con escasos ingresos.

No nos conocéis, pero estoy segura que si estuvierais en mi lugar, en el de mi familia y, sobre todo, en el de mi padre, estaríais desesperados por encontrar la manera de resolverlo con un final feliz y de que quien pudiera os echase una mano en momentos tan duros como son estos en los que, por desgracia, ahora nos encontramos nosotros, así que os pido por favor y os lo agradezco con todo el corazón, que donéis, por poco que sea, y que compartáis esta campaña con familia, amigos, redes sociales, para que mi padre tenga una oportunidad.

Hello, my name is Elena de la Cruz and I need your help, however small it may be.

Let me explain:

At the beginning of the year my father, Pedro de la Cruz, who is 72 years old, began to complain of pain in his left leg. At first none of us gave it any importance, but the pain continued to grow and by mid-June my father, who had been on crutches for about a month, lost mobility in his leg and was practically bedridden. Worried, my father decided to request specialist consultations and was admitted to Nuestra Señora de Sonsoles Hospital in Avila, where initially, despite several traumatological and neurological tests, they could not find the reason for his pain. Finally they did a CAT scan and discovered that he had lung cancer which had metastisized to the bones of his left leg.

In addition, while still in the hospital, he fell and broke his hip, which led to them having to implant a hip prosthesis, remove the head of his femur as it was affected by the metastasis and send it off to the pathological anatomy department for analysis. The result: carcinoma; he had surgery on his hip and femur on July 30th which came with a high possibility of death because, in addition, my father has suffered five heart attacks in the last twenty years. Although he survived the operation, to this day, my father is unable to walk because of the severe pain he feels in his leg and the weakness that the cancer is causing. Also, he is losing a great amount of weight as it is impossible for him to eat properly due to a loss of appetite, a common symptom in cancer patients.

The oncologists are now assessing what treatment to follow: chemotherapy, radiotherapy, metronomic chemotherapy..., but while they deliberate, and because of the concern and painful notion of losing him as he is being stripped of a considerable volume of muscle mass and energy, my family, with external medical advice, have started a treatment consisting of a series of supplements (of which I will leave a list below) that help to slow down the evolution of the cancer. If we are not able to save him, at the very least, we hope that we can extend his time with us with the highest quality of life possible.

The problem is, and this is where your help comes in, that this treatment, along with all the diapers, underpads, gloves etc... is impossible for us to maintain: we are a humble family with a limited income.

You don't know us, but I'm sure that if you were in my place, in my family's and, above all, in my father's, you would be desperate to find a way to solve this woeful situation and reach a happy resolution and so we are asking anyone who can offer a hand at this dark and difficult junction in which we have found ourselves, with all my heart, to donate whatever you can, however small, in order to give my father a chance.
