Traumatic House Fire Recovery

Hi my name is Paige Pickard and my roommates name is Carly Gadzinski. We’re currently fundraising to help get ourselves back on our feet after our new apartment that we had just finished moving into 2 days prior, caught fire early Monday morning on April 29th 2024. By the time the fire alarm had went off our living room was already in a total blaze. While being in full panic mode as the whole apartment was filling up with smoke we were frantically searching for our 3 cats but they were absolutely no where to be found. We had to evacuate the premises without our 3 babies because there was too much smoke at this point, and were unable to breathe. Thankfully the Manitowoc Fire & Police department arrived minutes after 911 was called and they were able to locate all 3 of them before it was too late. We have lost pretty much everything due to the flames and all the smoke damage/soot including our beds, clothing, cat supplies, furniture, electronics, hygiene products, and our new beautiful home that we worked so hard for. It was very traumatic not only for the both of us but our poor animals as well. The funds raised from this will be put towards the vet bills, and for us to help regain everything that we have lost.
