Travel, Lodging, Food for the Brodericks

Hello,

I'm writing today to tell you about my good friend Mike Broderick. Mike is not only a co-worker of mine on the Des Moines Fire Department, but a good friend of mine as well. Mike once paced me for the final 50 miles of a 100-mile running race through the mountains and made sure I was well taken care of mentally and physically throughout that entire time even though he was hurting just as much. Mike is a selfless, loyal, hard-working dude. Recently Mike was dealt life's crappy hand of liver cancer. If you know him, you know he's a guy that won't ask for a single thing EVER, and if you have never met Mike I wish you could. My heart genuinely hurts for Mike and his family as they face this battle. Mike served his country for over 20 years in the US Army and has now served his community as a Firefighter and Paramedic for the past 15.

Earlier this week the family found out they were able to get into a Dr. in Houston, TX for treatment. Mike and his wife are currently half a country away from their family and covering hotel stays, meals, gas money, etc all on their own. Please help his family during this trying time with any amount you can. Mike deserves every ounce of love and charity you can throw his way right now.
