Donating a much needed kidney

I'll be donating a kidney to a woman in need. Christine is a 19-year heart/liver transplant recipient who has been living life to the fullest extent. Christine has lived her life in the service of others working tirelessly for the Starlight Children's  Foundation for 25 years, granting wishes for ill children. She's just the kind of person we need to be around for a long time, bettering the world around her.  She has had to put her charitable work on hold due to her kidney failure.
I will need to travel to California no less than three times with a companion to take care of me. After the surgery, I will need to stay there for two weeks. Airfare, lodging, food, ground transportation, etc.  will add up quickly. Any money raised above and beyond our expenses will be donated to one of many kidney foundations.  If , for any reason, I am unable to donate to Christine, the funds will transfer to the person donating.
