Travis Cartwright -Forever in our hearts

Donation protected
On Sunday 1/28/19 my amazing cousin went into cardiac arrest at home. Ashley immediately called 911 and began CPR as Alex and Bella stood by and watched scared and confused. It took paramedics 25-30 minutes to get his heart beating on it's own again. Once his heart was stable enough he was transferred up to Phoenix.
The following days his body continued to decline as his brain began to swell, aspiration pneumonia set in, seizures and a declining EEG. Travis had gone too long without oxygen and had suffered severe brain damage. Doctors informed the family that if he somehow recovered he would be in a complete vegetative state the rest of his life and would depend on feeding tubes, a trach tube and anything else required to sustain life. Anyone who knew Travis, knows he would never want this as his life. On the evening of Wednesday 1/30/19, our beloved Travis was removed from life support and at 8:54 am 1/31/19 he went to be with God.
It is my hope that we can take away some of the financial burden on his wife Ashley as well as my Aunt and Uncle. Whether it be to help cover funeral services, lost time from work or to allow them to take some time off of work to grieve and to try to understand this tragedy. No one imagined this could happen and it seems so unfair that this, now, is  how his story ended.  If you cannot donate I ask that you please lift this family up in prayer. Help us all to understand and to trust in God.  All funds raised will be given to his wife Ashley Cartwright.
I felt I would share a text I received from my Aunt Judy shortly after he passed away.
Travis left us early this morning at 8;54 am. It's ironic that his heart stopped and caused all of this...yet it worked it's ass off in the end.
It's been a hard few days but he's good now. I love you all! I have such a great family and such great friends. Our focus now is for Ashley and Alex and Bella. I don't know what arrangements are, if they are private or what. Will let you know.
This is Ashley's call and we will help with whatever she needs or wants.
Thank you all for loving us and standing by us during this difficult time.
I would be lying if I told you that this seems so unfair. It is but there must be a reason. I won't know till we meet again.
Despite his challenging childhood this Travis of ours had a great heart. There was never one day that I didn't love him. He Loved his Brother and sister, sometimes tolerated me (he loved me).. His Dad and him were best buds and he loved his family and his friends. He loved fiercely and never did anything halfway. He played hard and he was a hard worker and loved providing for his family. He would do anything for anybody.
He brought me an amazing daughter in law and my first 2 grandchildren.
We are all broken for now but with time we will lean on each other and carry him with us.
I love you all. Thank you again for loving us.
I know I have a lot of texts that I haven't looked at or responded to. I'm going to need a minute...
