Hello, my name is Dave and I am fundraising for a good friend and brother in the Lord, Travis Cormier. On Sunday, August 6th, Travis had a restless night due to back and hip pain. He got out of bed when his alarm went off and called into work. He went back to bed and awoke at 8:00 am. His legs were numb and would not move. He was paralyzed from the waist down. After waiting a while for the feeling to return, he was taken to St. Lukes Hospital. The Doctors and staff did all they could do through imagery and tests, but could not find the reason for his paralysis.
He was transferred to Ecumen Lakeshore Foundation for physical therapy while his paperwork is being processed for admittance into the Mayo Clinic where hopefully he will finally get some answers.
I first met Travis when he was a client of the Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge. I can only guess...10 years ago? He completely turned his life around. Travis is a great fisherman and a Fisher of Men. He is a Celebrate Recovery leader, sponsors several men, active in his home church and still pours into TC clients that came after him. He returned to school for aircraft mechanics and works for Cirrus Aircraft. He met and married the love of his life, Christina and they purchased a home not long ago.
Travis won't be working any time soon and medical bills have only begun to start piling up. On top of that, their house will need extensive renovations to be handicap accessible. Disability insurance and Christina's job are meeting the normal monthly bills, but it won't scratch the surface of what is to come.
Travis has always met men where they are at; walked with them through their trials, while always pointing them toward Jesus. Now it is our time to do the same for him.
We covet your prayers, support and generosity.
Thank You
