Travis Daniel snowboard accident

Travis was in a horrific snowboard accident on Saturday 2/12/2022 in Maggie Valley, NC.
Travis was taken by ambulance to Asheville, NC where he had a 3-hour surgery. He fell off on the slopes down a very steep ledge. He hit several trees and it is a miracle that he has no brain damage. He has staples closing his head, he dislocated both shoulders during the fall, and broke his neck. They put in permanent screws in C4,5,6,7, and T1. The alignment was a success. There was no leak or tearing of the spinal cord, but there is narrowing. He has no feeling or movement from the chest down.
Sunday 2/13 they started physical therapy.
So far the plan is to stay in ICU doing physical therapy and watching him closely. Maybe move to another room mid-late week.
The future plan is to get him transferred to The Shepherd Center in Atlanta. His care team estimates he will be there for at least a month or several for rehab, but they cannot say for sure.
Unfortunately, there is not good news from their health insurance provider. It remains to be seen what they will cover for the hospital in Asheville. So far they say they will not cover The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, which he will absolutely need for rehabilitation.
Travis and his wife Bree have been married for 14 years and have 3 children: Riley 13, Tinley 9, and TK 8. The children are being cared for at home in Georgia by family while Bree is with Travis in Asheville, NC. Bree has been a stay at home mom until recently. She hasn't been working long enough for benefits. There are so many unexpected expenses already adding up quickly (hotel, gas, food, and medicals).
There are many already asking how they can help by donating to help the family with the exorbitant amount of medical and rehab expenses to come. I'm hoping this GoFundMe will be an avenue that his friends and family can donate to help. I am starting this fundraiser at $10,000 but I know it will have to be increased to much more eventually. Travis has Venmo if you want to donate to him directly. With Travis not able to work for the foreseeable future there is little to no income. What benefits are available remains to be seen as this is a very new and fluid situation for them. Bills won't wait and we want to try and alleviate as much as we can while they figure that out and I will adjust this accordingly as they navigate all of this.
There is no amount that is too small. Anything you can give will be such a help! Please give if you can. And if you can't give just please please keep Travis and his family in your prayers. We serve a mighty God and He is the Great Physician! This will be a long road to recovery. We are trusting the Lord for a miracle and that Travis will have a full recovery. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!
