Medical Expenses for Travis Redmond
Donation protected
I am raising money for Travis Redmond's medical and living expenses. He currently has stage 3B kidney disease, COPD, kidney stones, chronic pain, and decreased brain function as a result of the kidney condition. He is currently on extended medical leave, using the time he accumulated for almost a decade as a history teacher at Cox Mill High School. Unfortunately, the cost of his medical bills is so high that his pay alone isn't enough, and his condition is likely going to last longer than the amount of medical leave he has left. He is asking for $3,000 to help cover copays, food, travel, and utilities while he focuses on his recovery. He is currently at home focusing on maintaining his motor skills. He cannot walk for extended periods of time, due to swelling as a result of his condition. He has applied for Federal assistance, but the application process takes usually 5-6 months to get approved, and another 2 months to appeal if the first request is denied.
While it may sound trite, every little bit does help. That could mean one more prescription or visit he is able to afford. Mr. Redmond has asked me to set up and manage this campaign because I've worked in outreach and fundraising before, so he wants me to handle the technical side of things while he focuses on his recovery. I will not receive any of the funds donated — upon receipt, they will be deposited directly into his checking account. Any money received above the $3,000 request will still be received by Mr. Redmond — this is just the goal we have chosen.
Thank you so much! ☺
