Unexpected Death of Expecting Dad
Donation protected
With a heavy heart I announce the death of a dear friend, husband, and father-to-be, Travis Lugo. Travis had a pre-existing cardiac condition that led to his unexpected, premature death at age 22. Married to Jessica Lugo, Travis was a loving husband who was ecstatic to welcome his first child, Alexa, into the world.
Travis spent the last years of his life dedicated to helping others. He worked full time as an ER technician at Wellstar Cobb Emergency Department to prepare himself for graduating nursing school in less than a year. He was a natural caregiver. The kind that can't be taught or practiced. He would've made the most amazing nurse. Unfortunately, the couple were relying on his future career to be the main source of income for their family.
For those of you who were fortunate enough to know Travis, you knew his kind and gentle spirit would make him an amazing nurse and father. Working often with Travis, he was always eager to learn and lend a helping hand. Travis always had my back, which is why I am creating this fundraiser—I feel I should have his back to see that his family be taken care of as best I can during his absence.
The benefits of this fundraiser will go directly to Jessica to help cover the expenses of a funeral as well as to cover some of the costs of raising a newborn. Any donations, big or small are appreciated. It’s never easy to lose such a wonderful person, but hopefully the profits raised by this fundraiser can make the next step for Jessica and Alexa a little less painful.
