Help Travis Fulton Fight Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Donation protected
Family and Friends,

Once again, we are put in a position we never thought we would be in. On February 17th, Travis, our beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin, and friend, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer which has spread to his liver.

After a regularly scheduled check-up, Travis was sent for a CT scan after his blood level showed elevated liver function. He soon became jaundiced which significantly added to the need for a liver biopsy. The next day, he was informed of the diagnosis.

Travis then spent Sunday in ER for his jaundice and on Monday the 20th, he was admitted to the hospital. They did the first chemo infusion over 46 hours and, on Wednesday, put a stint in his liver to allow it to function correctly.

The following Monday, he got a second option from a top oncologist at City of Hope, who explained that there was about a 1% chance of remission for him and that he would be on chemotherapy for the rest of his life. He is in the midst of being tested for suitability for a clinical trial at City of Hope and other hospitals nationally. At a minimum, he will be off work for 6 to 12 months while he undergoes his initial treatment.

It's hard to know what type of financial need Travis will face since the extent of his treatment is still unknown. We have accounted for the decrease in income from disability, increased cost of insurance, and current household expenses. This amounts to approximately $18,000 in additional funds needed to cover everyday costs between now and December. We are starting this Go Fund Me campaign to alleviate the financial burden this places on Travis to allow him to focus on his treatment and recovery.

Travis is a gentle soul with a flare for being witty. He has a tight group of friends, loves hanging out with them, and is never far from home. He has always been financially astute (even buying his first car with cash)! He would never want to ask for help, but with this unexpected prognosis, he needs your support now.

We humbly and respectfully ask:

  • Keep Travis in your thoughts and prayers
  • Consider contributing to his fund. We have set up a separate bank account and will use it to make up for the shortfalls as needed and allow it to be managed over time.
  • Be an advocate for your own screening as we have learned that there is a rise in colon cancer in younger adults, and there were no early warning signs.

Please feel free to contact Travis' sister Julia Fulton or his aunt Kim Hughes if you have any questions.

On behalf of Travis, by his loving family, thank you.
