My grandfather survived the Holocaust. He watched his own father get murdered solely because of his Jewish religion. And now 78 years later, innocent Israelis - including Holocaust survivors - are being tortured again.

On October 7, Hamas launched a major attack against Israel. Hundreds of Israelis have been killed and more than 2,000 have been injured. On this day, more Jews were murdered than any other single day since the Holocaust.

Babies, children, elderly, and women - innocent civilians - have been raped, killed, and abducted. This is a calculated murder of individuals just because of religion and it is horrific.

I am running the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC on October 29th and would like to dedicate my run to raising money for the non-profit, American Friends of Magen David Adom.

Founded in 1940 as the American Red Magen David for Israel (ARMDI), American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) is the sole authorized fundraising and advocacy organization in the United States supporting the life saving efforts of Magen David Adom (MDA) in Israel and representing MDA in the US in all matters. MDA and its team of trained volunteer and professional medical responders depend on AFMDA support to provide the entire nation's pre-hospital emergency needs, including medical, disaster, ambulance and blood service to Magen David Adom.

Your donation ensures Magen David Adom's 33,000 paramedics, EMTS, first responders, and first-aid providers -- volunteers and staff -- have the training, equipment, and medical supplies they need to treat all injured and ill people in Israel.
