Give Giorgia a chance to recover

Hi, my name is Cathi and I’m raising funds for my daughter, Gee, to receive specialist treatment for dual diagnosis of Bipolar and addiction. The place we have found is in South Africa and a fraction of the cost of similar treatment in the UK.  I’m aiming to get her into treatment by the beginning of September 2023, in the meantime I’m looking after her at home whilst working full time and looking after my youngest daughter.

this is our story

My name is Cathi and on 20th of June 1998 I went into treatment for addiction and mental health, at the Nottingham Clinic, at the time run by Priory, I was 20 weeks pregnant at the time with Giorgia and blessed to have the NHS fund my rehab. 25 years later I’m still clean and serene. I went to university in 2018 and qualified as a registered mental health nurse, my way of living and giving back.

History appears to have repeated itself, my beautiful daughter Giorgia was in a coercive controlling relationship with a man twice her age who preyed on her vulnerability by giving her cocaine and other substances. He is the father of one of her friends. She has slipped into the grip of addiction and also has a diagnosis of Bipolar. This man was arrested but is still stalking her.  We have looked into treatment in the UK however it’s way out of our financial reach. She tried to end her life recently and spent time in hospital after taking a cocktail of medication because she couldn’t see any other way out. She is trying so hard to use NA and CGL but is very low and is struggling terribly.

This specialised treatment will give Giorgia a chance to step away from the UK and take time to deal with the trauma she has carried around for 24 years. She wants this more than anything and we will do everything in our power to make it happen. We are selling everything we can to raise funds, car booting every weekend, Vinted & eBay. All funds raised outside of this page are added to the page total. 

So with this in mind I’m sharing our story and our crowd funding page with you, in the hope that you can share and if possible donate.

Treatment saves lives, it saved mine, it saved my step son and it will save Giorgia if you can help us raise the funds
