Treatment for Jessica
Donation protected
On April 15, 2019, following a now, routine trip to the Duke Univeristy Medical Center, Jessica Boesmiller, was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Ocular Melanoma in her liver. Having just battled Ocular Melanoma tumor in her right eye in December 2017 while pregnant with boy/girl twins and losing her eye, this new diagnosis has hit the Boesmillers and their loved ones hard.
Since the new diagnosis, Jessica and her doctors are developing her treatment plan that include multiple renowned facilities specialized in treating this form of cancer.
Jessica, her husband, Mark, and 4 children (10, 9, and 1 1/2 yr old twins), as well as all of her loved ones, remain ever courageous and optimistic. They are researching additional integrative naturopathic therapies which are not covered by insurance, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. But they are not willing to leave a stone unturned in their quest to heal Jessica. The Boesmillers are dedicated to serving their community. Jessica is the Healthy Living Director at the Lake Norman YMCA, serving her community through the programming offered there for all ages and abilities. Mark is a combat veteran and has served the Charlotte community as a full time firefighter for 10 years as well as being a part time and volunteer firefighter in their hometown of Cornelius.
As her best friend, I ask for your prayers, but also your assistance in lessening their burden. "Out of Pocket" maximums for 2019 are already considerable. This paired with travel expenses, time off of work for both Jessica and Mark, and any of the integrative therapies not covered by insurance will create an enormous burden on their family. Whatever you are able to give would be greatly appreciated and will be used to help offset medical bills, transportation costs, meals, and childcare.
