Lilac trees & garden in memory of Amanda Black

Donation protected
Amanda Black was a close friend of mine who tragically lost her life by murder on February 8th, 2021 in Fort St John by domestic violence. She was so incredibly loved by myself and so many other people in Fort St John.

Amanda was burried on Gabriola Island where her family is which is a long ways away from Fort St John where many of her closest friends live.

Today I went to her home and realized that it was cleaned out and they are preparing it to be rented out again. When it is rented again, myself and those in Fort St John who love her will have nowhere to go to place flowers or items in memory of Amanda. The doorsteps of her house have been covered in flowers, cards, teddies and other things by those who love her.

So I am asking for the community to help me raise money to plant a garden in the community forrest for Amanda. The plan is to plant 3 lilac trees and some annual flowers in our local fish creek (community forrest) or in centennial park for Amanda.

The original plan was to put a tree and picnic table up in Centennial with a plaque that has her name on it, but after speaking with the city, I love this idea 100× more and planting a miniature garden for Amanda just seems like the most perfect idea in the world. Especially for her as she was such a vibrant and loving person.
