We are currently seeking donations to cover attorney fees and related expenses ($10,000) to STOP the City of Stockton from cutting down over 400+ healthy trees!
We have hired an attorney, an environmental specialist who has successfully been able to prevent the cutting down of 13,000 trees in the city of Los Angeles. As you might imagine, this type of legal battle is not cheap. We need everyone's help to stop the City from deforesting our neighborhoods. Donate what you can. No amount is too small.

The projects were approved by the City Council without prior public notice and without any studies being done to determine the impacts to the residents or the surrounding environment. As of now, the City has no plans to replant any of these trees. At a minimum, the removal of these trees will create “heat islands” within the City, reduce air quality, lead to greater street flooding in the winter, and blight historic neighborhoods. Additionally, houses currently shaded by these trees will experience increased utility costs this summer, and the street and sidewalks will become hot making it less desirable to walk. ALMOST EVERYONE IN THE CITY WILL BE AFFECTED ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!
Tree Stockton Foundation has filed a lawsuit under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) to prevent the City of Stockton from moving forward with the project without conducting an environmental impact report.
We are currently soliciting donations to cover attorney fees and related expenses to stop the City from cutting down our trees and deforesting our neighborhoods. Our goal is to raise $10,000. Any money not used to cover attorney’s fees and expenses will be used for tree planting and other tree-saving activities within the Stockton city limits.
It is imperative that we raise these funds immediately to retain an attorney to file the lawsuit to STOP THE CITY! Our trees depend on you and your generous donations. If each person donated $10 - $20 we could easily reach our goal.

TREE STOCKTON FOUNDATION is a non-profit organization comprised of concerned Stockton citizens who want to save the nearly 500+ live, healthy trees the City of Stockton is planning to cut down as part of “sidewalk repair” projects. The majority of the trees are in the mid-town Stockton area, but the project calls for removing trees as far north as Eight Mile Road, and Eighth Street to the south; from Interstate 5 to the west and West Lane to the east. These are trees lining YOUR neighborhood streets and are in YOUR front yards.
