Tres - Amputation medical expenses
Tax deductible
Tres was surrendered to the shelter by his owner who said he had been hit by a car. His leg was very badly broken and the bone was exposed. He also had a snake bite on his face. This poor dog was in extreme pain. Due to the extent and severity of his injuries he needed to be rescued immediately or the shelter would have to euthanize him.
The volunteers at BFPA were not sure how much surgery would cost for this gentle boy, but they knew he had to be saved! A volunteer raced to pick him up and take him to the vet for an immediate evaluation. After examining his leg, the surgeon at Harmony Animal Hospital agreed that his leg could not be saved and he underwent surgery to remove the leg and was also neutered since he was already under anesthesia and was stable.
Sadly, it appeared Tres had also been badly neglected prior to his injuries; he is severely underweight, and his coat is in very poor condition. BFPA will ensure he gets all the help he needs to fully recover from this surgery. Our goal is that Tres will soon be a healthy, happy dog and put his past well behind him.
We will never know what happened to him, or how much he suffered ... but what we do know is that he is now safely recovering in a loving foster home!
We humbly ask for your donations towards his medical expenses. Every donation, however small will make a world of difference. So far his medical expenses have exceeded $1800 - however, he will need to undergo another minor procedure, so we anticipate his total expenses will be in the range of $2000.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us all.
