Trevor Klett and Kids Fire Recovery Fund

On November 12th just after midnight Trevor Klett and his children Kylo (3) and Myla (1) were at home sleeping when the vacant apartment below theirs exploded due to a gas leak.* Moments after the explosion, Trevor’s entire apartment was engulfed in flames & Trevor was trapped inside with his two young children.

Thankfully, Fire and Rescue crews were able to vacate Trevor and the children safely, but their home and all possessions have been lost due to the fire and smoke damage and what is left in the home is unable to be recovered due to the risk of structural collapse.

*The cause of this fire/explosion is still under investigation, but the mother of the children has reported the smell of gas at this apartment to Nicor on 3 separate occasions prior to this incident.
