Tribute for Shirley Lacy and family
Donation protected
On October 19th, four days after her 40th birthday, our mother Shirley Lacy lost her life. Sometime during the night, she collapsed in our apartment due to what we can only assume had been heart complications, and despite mine and responding EMTs best efforts to revive her on the scene, she did not make it.
Our mom had been a brilliant, resilient, and hardworking woman. She had been a single mother who had raised 5 kids on her own through some of the most difficult years of her life. She had tried her best to provide as much as she could for us in whatever way was possible and made multiple sacrifices for the health and happiness of her kids.
With her death, there is still so much to process. I am her eldest daughter, and my four younger siblings and I are going to be moving to the United States from Ontario in order to be with family. This fundraiser is going to be used for the cost of moving from Canada to the US, as well as costs of living in the United States, and the future care for my siblings and I as we continue to navigate our lives without our mother.
