Tribute In Honor of Eugene "Willie" Olechnowicz

Hello, My name is Marc Olechnowicz, and I've created this fundraiser in honor of my brother Willie who has recently passed away. Willie had a true presence in the Fifth Ward, where he was born and raised. You could always count on him for a smile and a kiss for the ladies. He was well known for his handmade jewelry making, which he took great pleasure in handing out to the ladies he came across his daily walks along Thames Street.

King Park was a favorite place to start his daily walks as he enjoyed the NIMFEST weekly music concerts during the summer season. This December, I'm planning a tree lighting at King Park (inside the gazebo on the 5th then will be adjacent on the 6th and the remainder of December) for the entire community to enjoy in the spirit of the season in Willie's honor. The proceeds of any greatly appreciated donations will help to fund a Christmas tree that will be replanted there in honor of him. I also plan to keep his memory alive with a bench in Newport where people can continue to have a piece of solitude and reflect on the times they have had the pleasure of being in his presents.

Every donor, if present, will receive one of Willie's necklaces as our thank you!
