Paying Tribute to Brother Mel Reeves

Melvyn Gilbert-Reeves was a great man who dedicated his life to the work that he believed God called him to; standing up for those who were not able to stand up for themselves. As he often reminded us, justice must come before peace. Well he fought for justice all his life, and now he is at peace.  Mel was an inspiration for many as his efforts to better the Twin Cities and the world touched thousands of lives directly.  More than that, Mel was a loving father and grandfather and leaves behind a heart shaped hole in his family.  
He will be missed by many including his son, Kellen, daughter in law Michelle, and grandchildren David, Christopher, Quentin, Zavier and Zaire. He is joining his grandson Cameron in peace.

Many have reached out to the family to offer support in many forms and we have created this space for those that would like to provide financial support towards his arrangements as we work to honor him by celebrating his life well, as a lifetime of fighting for justice does not a wealthy man make. We thank you for your thoughts, prayers, messages, and the love you had for Mel.
