Tribute to Mike Cannon

Early Saturday morning Mike Cannon unexpectedly passed away. Mike was a dedicated, loving father, husband, son, brother and friend.  His life was his family and he would do anything for them to ensure their happiness.  The same held true for friends, colleagues, and quite honestly, anyone who needed help.  Mike always lit up a room when he entered it – people were drawn to him and his stories.  He knew how to make people laugh, and make them feel good about themselves.  He was a mentor to many and anyone who asked.  He had life lessons for all – sometimes even when you really didn’t want them!  His sage advice and support have probably helped many people reading this tribute today.  We are all truly blessed to have had Mike in our lives!

Kara, Michael, and Maddie were his world.  They brought him so much joy and all he wanted to do was make sure they were set up for success.  One of his main priorities was seeing Michael and Maddie off to a good college – one that was right for them.  Unfortunately with his unexpected passing, planning for this major milestone has been truncated.

For everyone who knew Mike, he did everything for his kids - Whether that was carting them off to soccer, lacrosse, dance, school, the beach, or anything else they wanted to do.  He was a proud dad that would light up talking about a great play or goal that Michael or Maddie had – which we all know was many. Quite honestly, he would light up whenever he spoke of them!  Anything Michael and Maddie needed - Mike was there. His pride and joy was his family and he wore that on his sleeve!

In tribute to Mike, it will be so meaningful for all of us to help fulfill his dream of sending Michael and Maddie off to the college of their choice.  This will give each of us the opportunity to share in Mike’s pride and dreams for his beautiful children!
