A Film For My Dad - Edward Herrmann
Donation protected
My name is Emma Herrmann and I am currently a senior at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts majoring in Film and TV production with a minor in Italian. I grew up in a family of artists and chose film as my medium. Telling stories is my passion and I hope to now tell my own.
My Senior Thesis Film tells the story of a girl pushed to hysteria by the loss of her father. It is a dramatized version of my own experience after losing my dad, Edward Herrmann. My motivation for creating this film is to give solace to those who have experienced loss. Whether great or small, grief can become a monster when not given its time.
This film is also for the many fans who grieved with my family.
Acting was not just my dad's job, it was his life. He became each of the characters he played and was part of the lives of those who watched him. At breakfast he would read me his fan mail, responding to letters on his personal stationary with his ballpoint pen. Even after his death, I made daily trips to the post office to receive all of the letters of support and love for our family. I hope to share my experience with his fans whom he loved, cherished, and thought of as family.
Unfortunately, filmmaking is really expensive and we go into production in just a few weeks (mid-November). So in order to make this film, I need your help.
Here is my budget breakdown:
CAMERA RENTALS: $1400.00
HARD DRIVES: $150.00
PRODUCTION DESIGN: $500.00
GRIP & ELECTRIC: $200.00
SOUND: $65.00
TRANSPORTATION: $1000.00
FOOD: $1,550.00
ESTIMATED GOFUNDME FEE: $385.00 (+$0.30 per every donation)
TOTAL FUNDS NEEDED: $5,250.00
Thank you so much for taking the time to read through my proposal and I hope you consider donating to help me make this special film.
Much love,
Emma Herrmann
