Tribute to Sean Carlson

Donation protected
Sean Carlson was a beloved son, brother, husband, and father who tragically lost his life three weeks before his 39th birthday. Everyone who knew Sean knew he was caring, kind, sensitive, and quick to crack a joke. Sean’s presence made any room brighter with his humor, his stories, his imagination, and his sense of adventure. Sean lost his life due to medical complications on November 15th, after a long battle with addiction.

While trying to make terms with the loss, Sean's family needs help and support. The ripples that his death has caused are beyond profound.

What is keeping Sean’s memory alive in our hearts right now...

  • Sean and Elizabeth’s marriage at the Carlson family home four years ago; Sean committed his life to this beautiful soul on the same trails that he grew up on, running, and playing through the woods with his siblings.

  • Sean’s countless stories of strange celestial sightings, or seeking out Bigfoot.

  • His desire to perform for everyone, whether it's voices or accents, quick jokes, or countless innuendos.
  • On Sean’s birthday every year growing up, the family would roam the streets of downtown Seattle, experiencing the city that Sean loved so much.
  • Sitting in the grocery cart when he was three years old, performing and making other kiddos laugh down the grocery store aisles.
  • Sean lost a tooth after getting hit in the face with a baseball; the dentist told the family to put the tooth in milk and bring it to the office immediately to be replaced; of course Sean drank the milk on the way.
  • Sean’s love of the movie Tombstone, embodied in the quote, “I Feel Capital.”

Who we are:

Sean’s immediate family all contributed to this page. Sean is survived by: his Wife, Elizabeth Carlson, two bonus daughters, Keshara and Saabirah, his parents, Shelley and Steven Carlson, his three siblings, Spenser, Sammy and Stephanie (and their significant others), and his nephew Hunter.

The Carlson family has lost three important family members over the last three months. All unexpected and all without any pre-planning. The death of Sean at age 38 has rocked us.

These funds would go toward funeral and memorial costs, medical expenses, and the continued well-being of his family.

Please donate in memory of Sean. Every small amount helps.

Note: if you or a loved one you know is struggling with addiction there is help out there. Please reach out to SAMHSA 1-800-662-HELP (4357).
