Help Tricia Busch beat Cancer!
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’ll get straight to it. Tricia Busch has been diagnosed with a rare, aggressive lymphoma. Her treatment plan will take years of chemo, forcing her to spend 5+ days in the hospital at a time and taking her away from her family. We are starting this GoFundMe to help curb medical expenses so she can focus on healing.

Here’s the longer version:
On November 21st, Tricia went to urgent care because she was experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, and a persistent cough. Urgent Care sent her to the ER, where they discovered a mass the size of a baseball in her chest that was blocking the flow of fluid around her lungs. They drained a bag of fluid and she went back in for another draining Wednesday where a test confirmed there were free floating cancer cells present in the fluid.
They said then it’s either leukemia or lymphoma and that she would have at least 6 months of treatment ahead of her. She went in Monday, November 28th for a PET scan and then Tuesday they biopsied the mass in her chest and her bone marrow. The news went from bad to worse with the official diagnosis: T Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that makes up less than 1% of all lymphomas. Treatment will take years.
Her friends and family have rallied around her and Tricia’s biggest concern is her kiddos: Magdalena (8), Marielle (4), and Allen (16 months). Tricia took this year off of teaching in order to spend more time with them so this timing feels especially cruel.
Her treatment plan started with inpatient chemo on Friday, December 2nd and she will be in the hospital for 5 days at a time. Due to the rare and aggressive type of cancer, her oncologist is also sending her to a specialist in Omaha. She is fortunate to have insurance, but the costs have already started to add up in these first 2 weeks and this is going to be a long process. We are asking for donations to help with Tricia’s medical bills and related expenses.
We will post regular updates here.
