Tricia Gammons: family in time of need
My name is Jacob Gammons and I am reaching out for help. My father was diagnosed with ALS around 2 and a half years ago. He is coming to a point where his passing could be close, or still a bit away. This is one of the demons of ALS, the lack of knowing what course the disease will take or how long it will take to do so. He opted not to have a feeding tube put in and his swallowing is becoming weaker. When he can no longer swallow on his own, the end will not be far off.
In addition, I left my career to help take care of my father and three sons when our local schools needed to shut down for COVID. Currently my wife Tricia is the only one making an income for our family. With my father’s passing within the foreseeable future, Tricia is hoping to take 2 weeks off when he passes to be with and help take care of the family. Having her home during the loss of this pillar of our family will be important in helping us come together and grieve. Unfortunately, the bereavement that her occupation allows is far less than the 2 weeks we desire. Without that income, we will not have the financial stability to pay our bills during that time.
I’m reaching out to you for help. Anything you can spare to help my family come together in this time is beyond appreciated. Any money donated will go towards our family bills during that time and anything above what we need will be donated to the ALS Association. Thank you so much for anything you can do.
