Tricia Jacobson "Team Jake"

To know Tricia is to love her.  Her dynamic personality draws you in immediately.    Her sense of humor and infectious laugh leaves a lasting impression with everyone.   Her approach to life is one we should all take note of, having such a positive outlook and appreciating every moment.   As Tricia would say "Try Me, Not Why Me".

Tricia was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2011, just months before her baby turned one year old.  She was aggressive in her treatment and elected to have a double mastectomy which showed clear margins and no cancer remaining.   In September of 2016 after a persistent sore back, a wonderful doctor saw a connection and ordered an MRI which showed cancer progression to liver, spine,  bone and bone marrow, pelvis, etc.   Shortly after that a regiment of harsh chemo began and per scans in December of 2016, the results were good and this showed significant improvement & cancer reduction.  After continuing chemo early in 2017 Tricia had heart failure due to the effects of the chemo and treatment & a pacemaker followed.   Tricia did well for a few months and reports were good.  In October of 2017, Tricia was experiencing headaches.  A follow up brain scan showed multiple brain lesions and many rounds of full brain and cyber knife radiation followed to get the tumors to a more manageable level.  A new oral chemo was started in February of 2018 that concentrates mainly on the brain. January 2019 scans show the chemo is not working on the tumors and other possible treatments are being researched.
