Tricias Fight Against Lung Cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Myles Misener-Daley and this is a fundraiser for my mother, Tricia. Within the span of less than two years, my mom has been diagnosed with 3 different types of cancer. First, she was diagnosed with Triple Negative stage 3 Breast cancer in March of 2022. She underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery as per her treatment plan. Nearly a year later, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had to have her thyroid gland removed only days before her five hour flight to California to attend her only son's graduation ceremony. Finally, just as we began to put this nightmare behind us, my mother was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer only six days before my flight back to school.
Since the day I can remember, mom has always been one of my biggest supporters in every aspect of life. She is a key figure in our family and someone everyone relies on.
From attending my little league soccer games as a young kid, to flying around the world to watch me compete on the world stage, she is always the loudest supporter in every crowd and makes me feel loved unconditionally. Now entering my final year at UCLA as a sprinter on the track team, the pain and heartbreak of being away from her during these difficult times can be unbearable. Although we have daily contact, I feel helpless being across the country and unable to go home.
Although she has been through so much, my mom still remains to be her positive and humorous self. With her high degree of sarcasm and love for jokes, she finds happiness and hope through the many symptoms of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries. I am so thankful for my grandma Joan, Steeve, her fiancé, and the various family members and friends who have stayed by her side daily to support her while I’m away at school. Although I cannot be there, I want to do more to help my mom and remind her how much she means to me.
As she begins her new fight with lung cancer, she has stepped away from her work to focus on her health and wellbeing. We, her friends and family, are asking for your help. I want my mom to peacefully focus on her health, recovery, and happiness without the financial worries or burdens of no longer working. She has always looked after me and given me a wonderful life, now, it is my turn to be her rock to lean on.
Please join in helping my mom. Anything you can give will help her focus on her wellbeing, treatment, and recovery. If we can aid even a small amount of financial burden, it will aid in the fight for her life.
