Tricia’s first step towards a cure!!

Tricia Anderson, is 48 years old and has been a nurse for 14 years. In July she underwent an endoscopy which showed considerable Barrettes esophagus, and then during her follow up in September they discovered 2 tumors. She then underwent a esophageal resection to remove the tumors with hopes of being cancer free. Unfortunately, the surgeon was unable to remove all of the cancerous cells. Always having cared for others throughout her life, her recent diagnosis has challenged her more that others because her role as caregiver has now become the role of care recipient.
Tricia will be traveling an hour each way to Coon Rapids daily to undergo 28 radiation therapy treatments, along with chemo therapy infusion weekly for 6 weeks to fight this disease. After radiation and chemotherapy treatments are complete, she will have an esophagealectomy with a 8-10 week recovery period. Travel and treatments will be expensive, and Tricia does not qualify for sick leave as she had chosen a different career path only 5 days prior to her diagnosis and had given notice at her job. Due to the fact that she will have a compromised immune system during her treatment, surgery and recovery period, she will be unable to work and care for others.
We will be holding a silent auction on January 11, 2020 and hope to raise a total of $15,500 as we believe this amount will cover her expenses during her treatment, surgery and recovery period when she is unable to work.
