Trigeminal Neuralgia and Vascular Loop Syndrome

Recently Coras dad (Blake Smith) has been having issues of fainting, severe headaches, dizziness, worsening eyesight, and insomnia. He had been back and forth to the doctor for a year, trying to get a diagnosis. At first he was told that his red blood cells were enlarged and was given medication. He then went back for an MRI which showed T2 hyperintensity. Thereafter he was sent for a MRA, which is a scan that specifically looks at the body’s (in his case his brain) blood vessels. He then went to a brain surgeon who said he recommended radiation because surgery comes with too many risk and sent a referral to a radiologist and his diagnosis was Trigeminal Neuralgia and Vascular loop syndrome but the radiologist said that radiation couldn’t help. So they have him on seizure medication to control all the symptoms. They then sent a referral to a neurologist which we are currently waiting on the appointment date. The radiologist did say there may be someone in Texas that could help but the visits and stay out there can be expensive. This diagnosis is rare and they are obviously unsure of treatments so at this point, Blake could seizure at any point from these issues even on the medication and it can be life threatening. So we are not only asking for prayers but for donations for any costs we can’t cover as working has been very difficult for him.
