On July 11, 2019 Tommy was involved in an incident causing a blast injury to his entire body, rupturing his eardrums,  damaging his eyes, and multiple abrasions on his chest and arms. The accident also resulted in traumatic amputation of the right hand and thumb. He has undergone two surgeries in the last week in attempt to save as much of his fingers and hand as possible. Future surgeries are expected as he goes through the process of trying to regain function of his primary hand. For his profession he built beautiful boat sheds. His work has come to a shocking halt as a result of his devastating injuries. He is distraught to have to miss his first alligator season this coming September. He is not a man to sit down or stand still. It will be a hard journey, as he must learn to stop and rest as he needs to in his time of recovery. Through everything he still continues to emit his bright personality, displaying courage and remaining optimistic. He will grow to find and claim his " new normal ". In this process he is humbly asking for donations to help him cover some of his medical bills, as well as help ease the stress of the expense of providing for his family and three children while he is unable to work.
