Trike to help with worsening mobility issues.

Hi, I’m Charlene. In 2012 I slipped on a wet floor and fractured my coccyx. This injury changed my life beyond recognition.

I developed fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and had to give up my beloved job as a children’s nurse in July 2017 because I was in an absolute mess.

Since then my life has changed so much, for a long time my mental health was so bad but with lots of work I’m getting there, trying to rebuild the new version of me.

My mobility changes sometimes hourly. Sometimes I can barely walk due to pain and other times it’s due to exhaustion/fatigue so I hardly ever go out.

I’m not ready to use a mobility scooter but an electric trike was suggested to me as a form of transport so I can go out more and enjoy going to the park etc like I used to. I don’t go now because I have gone so many times and ended up being in so much pain I’ve had to call a friend to rescue me and take me home.

With the trike I have a means to get around and get me home even if I am exhausted and in pain.

I have looked into whether electric trikes are available on the motability scheme but unfortunately they’re not and I cannot afford to buy one myself and it would take me years to save to buy one.

I’m asking for £3,000 for the trike and the safety and security accessories I would need to.

The trike I have looked at meets UK specification and the reviews for similar buyers to me are amazing. If I had any money left over then I would donate the excess to charity.
