Trinity Alps Resort Deep Fire Income Loss

Hi, my name is Katie Ball and I’m raising money to help Margo owner of Trinity Alps Resort for her monetary losses during the Deep Fire. Trinity Alps Resort has been a place my family has got to for over 68 years when my great grandfather initially found the place. Last year my son had his first year, and I sincerely hope many more generations can enjoy the resort as well.

We all essentially “inherit” our cabins for the weeks we chose to go and staying with our friends and family over many years is what makes this resort so special. I remember saving up the first year my sister and I had our cabin. What we also know when we agree to take a cabin is that we will be responsible for the cabin if we can’t go.

Margo (owner of Trinity Alps Resort) has always been gracious with people as much as she is able and she did not collect any cabin rent while the resort was evacuated for the Deep Fire. I can only imagine as a small business owner how difficult it is to make it when the 53 cabins you normally rent out for a week are empty during peak season, your restaurant, general store and bar closed as well (easily 100k in lost income I’m sure!). I know she sees all of us as extended family not just customers and I know she was heartbroken cancelling a week of summer vacation for so many.

If you can donate anything to help the resort through this season with this huge loss of income I know it would be appreciated! Even just enough to make up profits on an ice cream or milkshake! There are so many of us that can hopefully help a little to ease her burden and let her know we care and are still behind her! After all she is clearly there for us as well!

I also did call Margo to check in and that is when I decided to start a go fund me for her as “loss of income” was not covered in her insurance plan. I will give Margo the funds we raise directly through the go fund me platform.

UPDATE: Margo just called and is blown away that we are doing this (I sent her the link so she can receive the go fund me directly from the fundraiser). She confirmed that she lost over $130,000 she told me tonight on the phone. Hugs Trinity Family you are all awesome!
