Trinity Todd Medical and Living Expenses
Donation protected
Our names are Darrell and Lou Anne Todd and we are raising funds for our youngest son, Trinity Todd, to assist him in his medical care and living expenses.
Trinity graduated in December 2022 with a double major in International Business and Human Resources. He struggled to find work in his field after completing his degree. He took a position as a restaurant supervisor in July of this year.
Trinity had been having some back pain for the last few months. His new primary care physician treated him for some back pain with steroids and anti-inflammatory meds. However, the morning of December 2, he felt his back pop and had to be taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. While in ER, lots of xrays, ultrasounds, MRI, CTscans, PETscans, upper endoscopy were done. It was revealed that his T2 vertabra was disintegrated and that he had a cancerous mass throughout his spine that has spread to his lymph nodes and other areas of his body.
He had a 7 hour spinal surgery on December 4. Dr. Karikari put a metal cage in his spine at the T2 area, fused vertabra below and above the injury, installed rods on either side of his spine secured by screws above and below. Trinity came out of surgery with little to no feeling from the waist down and no control of his body below the waist. He is now dealing with cancer, paralysis and recovery from the spine surgery.
Biopsies have been done and BRCA tests have not returned. The exact source of the main cancer has not been determined but are planning a very aggressive chemotherapy because the cancer has metastatized and is very aggressive.
Trinity has had his first round of chemo and continuing physical and occupational therapy. Chemo treatments are scheduled now for every two weeks. Doctors and case workers are trying to set up getting him to the Rehab Hospital. However they would have to discharge him from the rehab hospital to go for his chemo as outpatient. This is due to the rehab hospital not able to have chemo done there. But if he leaves the rehab hospital for chemo he would not be able to return and check himself back in. Then he would have to go home and try to get home care and rehab; however, he needs the more rigid physical therapy at the rehab hospital. This is all a very sticky situation and he is facing lots of hurdles to overcome.
He had been on our family insurance plan until he turned 26 on October 23, 2023. He enrolled in a small insurance policy early November before his medical condition was discovered. He has just qualified for Medicaid since he's been in the hospital but has so many medical, living and education expenses and bills to cover. Insurance and Medicaid does not cover enough.
Funds will be used for his medical care, chemo, physical therapy, chair lifts, wheelchairs, special bed, home health care, living expenses for his mortgage, utilities, bills, student loan, etc.
We thank everyone that reads this for any support you can give. We appreciate everyone's prayers for a miraculous healing and strength to keep on fighting.
