Trip Of A Lifetime (Ghana)

Hello, my name is Erika, and I've been blessed with the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Ghana with a group of family and friends. All I need is to provide my own round-trip airfare. The departure date is October 13, 2022.

I have been battling Lupus, an autoimmune disease, for the past 18 years. Subsequently, I have not been gainfully employed since. I live on a very fixed income.

At age 36, I was told I would need a lung transplant that MAY give me 5 more years to live. My respiratory and cardiovascular systems (lungs and heart) were severely compromised, and I feared that I wouldn't live long enough to finish raising my 3 young children. I'm blessed to say that through the grace of God and other medical intervention, that was 16 years ago, and I'm still here! (...and didn't have the transplant.)

This trip would be a dream come true for me. I would love to go to the Motherland to celebrate my ancestral heritage, as well as my own sheer will to beat Lupus and LIVE!!!

My health journey has taught me to love hard; find joy (even in bleak moments); seize opportunities, and ask for help when I need it.
