Trip to Greece for Steph and Laurence
Donation protected
As many of you already know, Laurence has been fighting a huge battle these last few months. He was diagnosed last summer (2018) with esophageal cancer and has been trying to beat it ever since. It was very unexpected and hit everyone hard. He went through chemotherapy and radiation throughout the fall and did really well with it. Not a lot of side effects and was feeling great. Over the holidays, he had more scans and the doctors came back with not so great news. The cancer has spread to one spot on his spine and a number of spots in his lungs. But we aren't giving up on him and neither is he! He just started a much tougher regimen of chemotherapy which will focus on getting rid of or stopping the growth of the lesions in his lungs. This chemo might be a little tougher to get through but we know he can do it.
While talking to Laurence and Steph one night, their friend Sheri discovered that the one place Laurence would love to travel with Steph is Greece. So she decided to do something about it...and asked me to help. It will be a complete surprise to them but we are trying to organize a trip to Greece for them for the end of May. Laurence should be done his first set of chemotherapy by then and Steph will be done teaching for the year so it should work out well. We would really love for them to have this time together before he's back fighting this f*%$ing disease. It has been a tough 6 months for them so far and likely will get tougher but this time together will really help them.
Our goal is a lofty one but we thought, why not reach for the stars and give them an awesome trip. Anything anyone can donate will be so appreciated...$5 or $10000...and anything in between is welcome! Donations can be accepted with both debit and credit cards.
Please feel free to share this out with anyone you know that knows and loves Steph and Laurence.
