Hi, my name is Xiwen, an 8th-grade flute player, and I am raising money for my trip to perform in Carnegie Hall. I am very excited to be selected as the 2022 junior finalist of the middle school Honors Performance Series - a program that selects talented middle school musicians from around the globe.

I began my flute journey in first grade when my parents took me to a school band's concert, and the shining flute immediately caught my eyes. When I started my lesson, I was the slowest learner in my entire class. It was a little bit sad for me to learn that from my teacher, but I didn't give up; I started practicing every day after school. There were times during the practices that I wanted to give up. However, I believed that my hard work would pay off, so I continued to practice.

And now, it proved that it did pay off. The opportunity of the trip to Carnegie Hall is precious and encouraging, and I am very thrilled to be one of them. Any donation would help me greatly, and this fundraiser will be used for the tuition fee for the trip.
