Triple J's Hotties 100
Donation protected
Every winter in Sydney we all get that chilling feeling; "Why is it so cold? Why do I pay rent? How do I keep warm?"
A hot water bottle is a creature-comfort, a natural instinct and one of the simplest sources of heat.
The vessel: a flat, oblong container, typically made of rubber, that is filled with hot water and used for warmth, especially in a bed.
The source: Water greater than a temperature of 49 degrees – usually from a kettle or a very hot tap.
The insulator: A fabric composition covering the hot water bottle, keeping direct heat away from skin and insulating heat.
Starting with where I'm based in Surry Hills NSW, I want to drop off 100 hot water bottles to people sleeping rough this winter.
I need your help to get to 100 people in my area – and once we exceed this limit, we begin to organise:
1. Drop-offs in the wider Sydney suburbs
2. A map of safe spaces in your area to top-up your hottie
Triple J have been contacted for support, hopefully I won't have to change the name because it wouldn't sound as good.
Either way, thanks for reading and stay warm!
