Both family and coworkers were stunned when Tristan Andersen was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. With unfailing energy, he cares for his body, working out, rock climbing, and riding his unicycle. In the words of a coworker, “no unhealthy food ever passes through Tristan’s lips."

Tristan works as an EMT. In his job, as in all aspects of life, Tristan acts from his deep spirituality practice, based on loving kindness and compassion. He provides extra care to his patients by offering Reiki or their choice of music from his extensive playlists. His commitment to his patients and coworkers is unwavering.

Now Tristan needs help. He is currently the sole breadwinner for his family, including his 12yo daughter, Eden. After a month of inpatient chemo, Tristan faces a year of chemotherapy 5 days a week, then a second year of 2-3 times a week. Although he is a force, even Superman has his kryptonite.
