Tristan's Facial Masculinisation Surgery
Donation protected
My name is Tristan and I'm a transgender man raising money for facial masculinisation as part of my gender transition. I have accessed testosterone and am still waiting to access top surgery through an NHS gender clinic, but no transition-related facial procedures are covered by the NHS, leaving me with no choice but to pay for it privately.
Facial masculinisation is not a common procedure because, for most people, testosterone does enough. For me, due to an unrelated orthodontic surgery I had when I was 17, HRT has not and will not change the shape of my face. This is something that contributes significantly to both my dysphoria and my inability to pass as male. Not only do I want to be recognised by others as a man, but I also want to be safe from transphobic harassment and feel comfortable and at the very least neutral about my own face instead of hating it.
I have had to raise my goal on this fundraiser due to the costs of this procedure increasing above inflation. This is not something that I can afford by myself, even while working full-time and freelancing on top of that.
Because of this, I'm reaching out for support from others. Even just a few pounds or sharing this fundraiser would be so incredibly useful in helping me reach my goal and access the surgery I know I need. Your support, whatever that looks like, would mean the world to me.
