Trixy's Moving Fund

My name is Trixy Mercury. I am 40, a trans woman, an artist, an entertainer, autistic, and come January 1st I will be living out of my car with my cat, Semprini.

I have been working as a Karaoke Hostess for 8 years around Milwaukee and am not making enough money to afford any rental options in the area. None of my friends in Milwaukee have space for me and my cat at this time.

I rescued Semprini, my cat, from under the porch of an apartment I lived in 2 years ago and we are inseparable. I will not give her to a shelter, none of my friends can foster her temporarily until I get my feet on the ground, and she is going to be living with me out of my car.

In order to avoid freezing in the cold Wisconsin winter we are traveling to Los Angeles. Like so many others, I am seeking a creative community to make content that is hysterical and unique.

I was evicted and told to leave by January 1st the second week of December. The universe has given me this situation for the second year in a row.

Last year I was illegally evicted by a management company that bought the house that held my one bedroom apartment where I lived in for 7 years. They “exercised their right to terminate my lease” just one month after I signed a year contract. I couldn't afford reliable legal help or council.

I am in debt, have no savings, and have been living month to month the last year so I need help to break this cycle. I always make sure my cat eats and has toys and is taken care of even when I have to starve and pinch my pennies every week.

My duct tape mobile, or car, needs major TLC to make the journey.

I wouldn’t reach out to all of you if this wasn’t so important to me. I can’t grow and expand on my creative pursuits alone.

As the great Sammy Davis Jr. said, I want to live and not merely survive.

Please help me any way you can so I may ride my bike year round without the terrible winter crackling my face off and making me sick. May I never dig my car out of a snow bank again.

Every amount of money that goes over this basic goal will help me get on my feet in my new home. Thank you so much — everything helps!
