Troop 924 Eagle Project: Eggleston Farmette

Hello, my name is Tyler Tang and I am a scout from Troop 924 in Evanston. I have been in scouting since I was in elementary school starting as a tiger scout in 1st grade up until now as a senior in High School. I am fundraising for my Eagle project. The project consists of constructing, Installing, and filling four garden beds for the Evanston Ecology Center. These beds will be placed in the Eggleston Farmette. The produce from the Eggleston Farmette goes to feeding the animals at the ecology center as well as providing some produce to the non-profit collective organizations such as Evanston Grows and the free farm stand at Fleetwood Jourdain Center. These organizations bring together resources in the Evanston community to reduce food insecurity by increasing access to locally-grown produce and building community connections. By building these garden beds the Eggleston Farmette will continue to be able to support the community of Evanston and its residents.
