Troost-Ekong Foundation

Our mission is to empower Nigerian and African youth with football and education to inspire success, resilience, and community leadership.

We are a non-profit organisation that is looking to make a direct impact by improving local schools and orphanages in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

Our goal is to empower the youth by creating opportunities for them to better themselves, whilst lending a helping hand.

By partnering with existing good-will organisations locally we aim to give the financial support to improve or rebuild current facilities. But also focussing on the training and job opportunities for adults in order to provide the sufficient care and education for the youth that they are already caring for.

The founder William Troost-Ekong who has gone on to live his dream to play professional football and represent Nigeria on the world stage is passionate about creating a similar pathway for youth coming out of Akwa Ibom state. His love for sports in general has motivated him to build a sports facility in the long term back home in Uyo. The focus however will be just as much on education to build a school which will be complemented with sports. Giving children the tools to emerge as leaders in their chosen field and to progress on to fulfill their dreams.

Besides the launch and direct impact plans William has pledged to donate all his Super Eagles appearance and bonuses to the foundation.

His Excellency Governor Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom wanted to honour Troost-Ekong’s recent efforts at the 2023 African Cup Of Nations by supporting the son of the soil with his only request to have a charity fund raising match to launch the foundation.

This football for good event will mark the start of a long-term good will project in Nigeria starting back home in Uyo.

The charity match to kick off the foundations work will be held on Sunday 2nd of June in Uyo’s Godswill Akpabio Stadium. William has gathered his friends, ex international players, current Super Eagles players & renowned stars from the entertainment industry to come together to play. Besides giving the community a boost with a fun day out, raising awareness and funds is the key through donations & sponsors to amplify the foundations immediate impact.

All funds raised will directly benefit the underprivileged children and we are looking forward to displaying the foundations work!
